HOME-MADE YEAST (yeast without hops)

2 Tab flour
1 Tab sugar
1 dess salt
1 dess cr of tartar

Mix all these ingredients with enough warm water to make a pint of yeast, and shake well.
In about 24 hours it will be ready for use.

Mix the yeast into about 3lb flour, and allow it to stand for 2 hours. Knead into loaves and bake.

NOTE:  A heated dinner plate put on top of the bread dough will make it rise quickly, and in cold days another underneath is very helpful.

CHICKEN MARINADE

4 chicken breasts
1 Tab soy sauce
1 Tab Dijon mustard
1 Tab brown sugar
1 Tab sherry
1 Tab oil

Marinade together for 2 hours
