BAKED STEAK

1 kg gravy beef, cut into pieces
2 Tab flour
1 dess sugar
1 tsp salt mixed to a paste with some vinegar
tomato sauce
2 cups water

Rub on one side of meat with flour/sugar/salt mixture.
Place in baking dish, cover with tomato sauce then water.
Bake covered for 2 hours.

Delicious, and even tough steak will be nice and tender.

MADRAS STEAK

1 kg steak (cheap cut okay)
flour
s/p
2 large onions, sliced
SAUCE:  1 dess curry powder and 1 Tab vinegar, 1.5 cups hot water

Slightly rub steak with the flour, sprinkle the s/p and lay in baking dish.
Lay onions over steak, cover and cook in oven for 20 mins.
Mix sauce ingredients and pour around steak. Bake 1.5 hours longer.
Thicken gravy with a little flour before serving.

Very nice on a cold day.
