2 c Bran
3 Tabs br sugar
1 c milk
1 beaten egg
2 T melted butter
1 tsp bicarb
1/2 c treacle
1 t salt
1 c pl flour
3/4c raisins
1/2 t cr of tartar
Mix b&s, egg, milk & salt. Add bicarb in treacle then drys. Mix well.
Bake in a flat tin in mod oven for 45 mins.

BISCUITS
1 1/4c SR
125g butter
1 egg
2c Bran
1/2 c sugar
milk to mix
Cream b&s, add egg & beat well. Add flour & bran, and mix in a little milk. Mix & knead on a board. Roll out, cut into rounds or rectangles. Bake in mod oven til light brown.
60g each of Bran & sugar
1 tsp bicarb
1 breakfast cup flour
185g butter
125g milk
Rub butter into flour & bran, add sugar. Warm milk slightly, add bicarb to milk then mix with drys.
Roll out on a floured board to 6mm (1/4″) thick. Cut into rounds. Bake in slow oven 20 mins.
CRACKERS
2c Bran
1c flour
1 Tsp each of bp & salt
2 c wholemeal
125g butter or good dripping
1 egg, beaten
cold water to mix
Sift flour, BP & salt. Add w’meal & bran. Rub in butter, mix with egg & water to a stiff biscuit dough. Roll out, cut in squares. Bake in a mod oven til light brown, dry and crisp.
