EVERYDAY APPLE PIE

Make your favourite pastry then fill with this mixture:

2.5 cups sliced apples
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp nutmeg or cinnamon
1 tsp butter

Mix first 4 ingredients together. Place into pastry-lined dish. Dot with butter, then cover with top crust.

Bake in a hot oven, 200 degrees C, for 30-40 mins or until apples are tender. Lower the heat to 180 degrees C if the pastry is colouring too much.

Serve with whipped cream or ice-cream.
