Apple Brownies

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups apples (about 2-3 apples – pref granny smiths), peeled, cored and chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon bicarb
- 1 teaspoon BP
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Preheat oven to 350ºF ( 170ºC).
- In large bowl beat butter (melt in oven opt.), sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in apples, nuts.
- In separate bowl sift flour, bicarb, BP, salt and cinnamon. Fold into apple mixture.
- Pour batter into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean with a few crumbs attached. The top will have subtle cracks.
- Let it cool before you cut into bars. Good to take to a BBQ
