TO MAKE SELF RAISING FLOUR

4 heaped tsp cr of tartar
2 heaped tsp bicarb
2 tsp salt

Combine with 1.5 kg of plain flour, then put through a sieve twice.

YEAST WITHOUT HOPS

2 Tab flour
1 Tab sugar
1 dess salt
1 dess cr of tartar
warm water

Mix all these ingredients with enough warm water to make a pint of yeast, and shake well.
In about 24 hours it will be ready for use.
Mix the yeast into about 1.5kg flour, and allow it to stand for 2 hours.
Knead into loaves and bake.
